Dr Dennis O’Connor is a vocational registered specialist general practitioner. He completed his undergraduate medicine degree at the University of Melbourne in 1982. He spent his intern year at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne and then postgraduate work at the Bendigo Hospital where he completed his post graduate Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has also completed postgraduate studies in Musculoskeletal Medicine (Flinders University) and Health Professional Education (Monash University).
He has worked in private General Practice since 2016, initially as an owner of a small practice and after 25 years as a senior GP in a large group practice. He has had a clinical appointment with Monash University Rural Health since 2011 as the GP Discipline Lead and subsequently Academic Lead for the undergraduate medicine year 4 program in North West Victoria.
He is an RACGP Accredited GP Registrar Supervisor. His special interests include musculoskeletal medicine and medical education, but he enjoys the broad spectrum of clinical general practice. Outside of work he enjoys time spent with his family, walking, mountain bike riding and watching AFL.
